On Saturday October 14, 2017 The GHS Art Club went to the Springville Elementary School Fall Festival. For the past several years the art club has volunteered to work at the face painting station.
Olivia McPereson, Audrey Murphy, Britney Carton, Sara Rasnick, Faith Guzey, Madison Johnson, Michaela Tabor, Alise Bailey, Drake Dishman, Joey Dillow, Andrea Heffinger, Autumn Jesse, and Mrs.Cockerham were the art club members in attendance.

This creepy pumpkin hand was painted by Andrea Heffinger.

Sophomore Andrea Heffinger says, “It’s the school I went to as a kid, and it seemed like a good way to help, so why not?” in response to why she volunteered at the SES Fall Festival. Andrea’s favorite part of Saturday was painting the children’s faces. GHS art teacher Mrs.Cockerham enjoys volunteering at Springville Elementary because, “The teachers and people, they are so nice and helpful, we don’t have to bring anything but ourselves.”
The GHS Art Club is becoming an important part of the community; each year they do more and more. On Saturday October 21, 2017, the art club will be painting faces at the Sanders’ House. Mrs. Cockerham’s goal for the Graham High School Art Club is to keep getting more and more involved in the community.
