The Graham G-Men faced the Goochland Bulldogs for the VHSL state championship game on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Salem Stadium. Graham started out strong making the score 17-3 by half. The G-Men took down the undefeated Bulldogs with a final score of 31-9.  Both teams finished the season with 14-1 rankings. The G-Men took home the first state championship trophy since 1995.

The game was very exciting and nerve racking for not only the players and coaches but for the whole community. The school took a pep bus full of GHS students filling Graham’s student section. The crowd was ecstatic during the entire game making the lead against the Bulldogs very exciting.

The G-Men appreciate all the community support throughout the season. Graham’s biggest rival, the Bluefield Beavers, sent a cake in order to congratulate the G-Men on their huge accomplishment. Football games are more than just sporting events, they are ways for the community to connect.
