DECA kicks it at Virginia Beach

DECA took a trip to Virginia Beach for state competition. The people that qualified for state competition were Bethany Broyles, Laken Thornsberry, Ethan Baker, Preston Nipper, Caitlyn Deakins, Mikhail Tinio, Chandler Russell. Chandler Russell and Preston Nipper qualified to go to Nationals for DECA. The state competition was at Virginia Beach. The Nationals will be in Orlando, Florida.

Ethan Baker, a junior, said, “State was really fun and exciting. I didn’t think I was going to be qualified for state, but I am glad that I did. It was a good experience. I am going to do DECA again next year. We didn’t just go to the DECA conference. We got to shop at the mall and eat. We got to go down to the beach also.”

Senior Chandler Russell said, “I was a little nervous during state because I wanted to do my best to get to nationals. I didn’t think I would actually make it to nationals, but I did I am so proud of myself. I met a lot of new friends down there during the conference. Going to state was great. I got out of school and was at the beach – what could be better than that? Now I’m excited to head to Orlando, Florida to compete.”
