Student’s procrastination threatens weekend fun

GHS Press Staff

Dear GHS Press Knows Best,

I have a lot of homework because I haven’t done any all week. I should probably stay home all weekend and do it but I doubt I will. What should I do?

Dear Kolbe,

You should probably stay home and work on it. Your homework is really important to your grades and doing it will help you graduate. As a student, we understand how tempting it can be to just want to go do fun stuff and not do any of your work. However, you’ll probably regret that later. Schedule break times in between your work. Get up early and hit it head on, so then you’ll have time to relax, do what you want, etc. Try to work on finishing your homework when you get home so then you don’t have to worry about it later and you can try to relax. It may be hard at first but once you get into the groove of things, it should be easier to manage your time. If you have a free period at school, take advantage of that and finish up your work so you can then relax at home. Prioritize work that is due now, but also work on stuff that is due at a later time. Schedule a time to work ahead so you can get ahead in your work, but so you also don’t fall behind.
