Dear GHS Press Knows Best,

How do you keep your head up around school, when the same person brings you down everyday?

Dear Discouraged Student,

I know it can be hard to ignore people who constantly bring you down. There are several ways to combat these people. Surround yourself with people who don’t bring you down, avoid the people who bring you down. Talk to an adult in the building about what is happening. “You do your best for as long as you can. You have to make the choice to be happy, and that person isn’t helping with that, so you need to distance yourself from them,” said Nurse Plott. Sometimes it may help to confront the person and ask them why they feel the need to bring you down. This can help because you will understand their need to ridicule you, and will be able to more successfully disregard their comments.

Sincerely,
